CarPlay Fitment: Which Photos Should You Send?
When you are unsure which CarPlay kit fits your car, a few clear photos can make the compatibility conversation much more useful. The aim is to show the factory equipment, not to produce a professional vehicle photoshoot.
Park safely before taking pictures, and keep personal information out of the images where possible.
Photo 1: The factory main menu
Switch on the display and photograph the original infotainment main menu. Include the full screen, with menu labels readable and minimal glare.
A close-up of a phone navigation app or an aftermarket launcher may hide the system details needed for identification. If you can switch back to the original vehicle menu, photograph that view instead.
Photo 2: The dashboard and controller
Take a wider picture showing the display, surrounding dashboard, center controls, and controller if fitted. Avoid cropping so tightly that the relationship between the screen and controls is lost.
This view helps distinguish equipment layouts that may share similar-looking menus. It also provides context when discussing a factory-screen interface versus a replacement display.
Add your vehicle details in writing
Photos work best alongside a short description:
- Make and exact model.
- Model year and original sales market.
- Left- or right-hand drive.
- Factory system name, if known.
- Any previous screen, head-unit, or audio modifications.
If you do not know the system name, say so. Guessing a version can send the compatibility check in the wrong direction.
Photograph a connection only when relevant
Different accessories need different evidence. A Bluetooth audio adapter may require a photo of the factory iPod port. A charging hub may need the console shape and power connection. A CarPlay retrofit usually starts with the factory menu and dashboard.
Do not remove trim or disconnect wiring just to send an initial request. If connector identification is necessary, ask which connection needs checking and consider having an installer inspect it.
Keep sensitive details out of the frame
Check for home addresses, recent destinations, contact lists, or messages shown on the screen. Use a neutral menu where possible. An initial dashboard check does not require you to send a full vehicle identification number in a public comment.
Send the request together
Use the DRIVEVORA fitment help page or email drivevora.work@gmail.com. Keep the vehicle details and photos in the same request so the team can review them together.
Photos support a compatibility check; they do not replace the product’s technical requirements. Once your configuration is understood, select the matching version on the product page.
